Today was a perfect summer Saturday, sunny and 75 degrees and we had a tball game scheduled at 12:30. Mark Henry has attended two games before the first he cried, it was overwhelming and new. The second he cried less, he realized we were not leaving and it was more fun. I wasnt sure how he would do as we had a late start to the day after a busy Friday and he had a late breakfast, no lunch and no nap... Today he had a ball!
He was paired up with his buddy, a little leaguer, Joe and they hit it off! His coaches also always make a fuss of him and the other players. There are several high school girls who coach the team together and their mom and dad manage the team. He was happy as we arrived, he was in his walker checking out the field and players and seemed more settled.
He batted twice, waited his turn in the dugout with a bit of assistance and managed to get all the way around the bases the right direction! He participated in standing, some what still, during the national anthem at the start of the game and take me out to the ball park during the 2nd inning stretch! He even lined up to high five the other team. Most of all he had fun, he held and threw a ball, enjoyed being independent in his walker and checking out all the kids in chairs and running the bases. He was smiling and taking it all in! After the game we took his coupon to concessions and enjoyed an ice cream cone. It was a great time!
Go Mark Henry go!!! That post made me smile as I am so happy and excited for all these great pictures. Although we miss you in Florida it looks like you've found a great new home and we are so happy for you guys. I miss Mark's smile, it is one of the best!!

This is so important for Mark Henry to be mainstreamed into various activities. The smile on his face says it all! Though he may not yet verbalize, he is absorbing, learning and interacting which is so vital! Congrats to you and Mark for the wonderful job you are doing as parents! We so look forward to meeting Mark Henry one day :)
